Just like the Spring Couture show, Donatella had a diva on hand to represent for her show. The last couture show Lady Gaga showed us what was just about to come down the runway when she appered wearing a design that was just about to hit the runway. This show Jennifer Lopez was on hand in a Custom creation inspired by the Fall 2014 collection.

Just before the show began Donatella was asked what the collection was about, her responce “I love the Fifties couture. For me, it was the most perfect in cut and construction,”. The fifties would had been shocked. Needless to say Doantella's version is just as amazing as the fifties where. You can see both where the inspiration lyed especially in the simplier cuts, coats, furs, the top of the white fringe jumpsuit and ofcourse the ballgowns which had a very sexy twist. Now as a lover of the fifties, the style, movies, tv and so on the collection is classic with modern day sexy. The designer even updated the famous cats eye. Makeup artist Pat McGrath made it fuller, blue and bolder. This is an amazing start to Couture Week.

How is it that collection after collection, after his debut two years ago, Raf Simons always amazes us.

The opening dresses, which have made my heart want to see them on the red carpet right now, where nowt only beautiful and volumous but looked as light as a feather and inspired by the 18th century. But Raf didn't just stay in one decade, and the designer did it in a way that it seemlessly flowed through. The long beautiful coats paired with flowing pants and trurtlenecks, made me think of a Parisen or Russin women is the fifties walking around during a fabulous snow fall. And right after pictureing this, out came above the knee skirts and dresses with beautiful deliacteness.

The thing that intrseted me the most was the cargo inspired clothing. Everything from black cargo pants, to jumpsuits to even dresses, that somehow worked with the collection beacuse of the beautiful color scheme. While Simons previous collections had a lot of color, this couture collection had whites, pastels and blacks, witholny occassional pops of bright bold colors. This collection was filled with beautiful pants, coats and dress, just the kind of items I expect from a Raf Simons' Dior runway.

Giambattista Valli Couture

This Couture collection consisted of not only Giambattista Valli's love of florals but also strips. Valli had visted the Alhambra Gardens a year ago and toke the insperation and beauty and brought it to this collection.

The head wrap and sunglasses mixed with the all striped dresses made me think of an old hollywood movie with a beautiful Spanish women walked barefoot through the beautfiul garden. The 3D flowers sprang to life and the sheer hems made them feel like they where flooting on the models bodies. Before the show Valli said "The secret of my girls is that they're always eccentric," and it never more showed then in this collection.

The final gowns, which will be the talk of the collection, where like life sized flowers unraveling around the model and flowing is a big circle as she walked. The colors where bright and bold and stripes added to this collection where a pretty touch, and added something diffrent then what we normally see from Giambattista.

   Chanel Couture

Fall 2014 Collection

The Chanel Couture Fall 2014 featured exactly what you would expect from Chanel all the way to the days of Coco Chanel: tweed. An of course featured Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel over the last few years: volume, funnel necks, sturctured, bedazzlements and ofcourse pieces that unless where Chanel you would think the desinger was far to out there.

The scenery for this show was inside a beautiful apartment space filled with fireplace with digital flames. The inpsiration? Photo's Lagerfeld saw of architect Le Corbusier's Paris apartment. He took the idea of architecture not only in the space but all with his clothing. Viewing the clothing as concrete that he molded into Couture and the jewles and embellishments as tile added to make a mosaic. The collections colors consisted of burnt orange, lilac purple, navy and pinks and reds.

Embellisments are always huge when it comes to a Chanel collection. Even if you as a viewer of the collection, dosen't fall for every piece beacuse it's to "Couture" for you, you have to appreciate the beading, the fabric, the embellisments that went into creating the piece. Lagerfeld made shorts a staple in this collection, styling coatdresses, skirts, and jackets to go with them and sparkled ribbon sandals to be paried. An whats a collection with out gold and silver picecs and embellishments mostly saved for the outifts to be see at premieres and photocalls.

My favorite part of the show being that the beautifull ending gown being worn by seven month old pregnant bride and model Ashleigh Good. With Karl saying "I like pregnant women," and soon to be godfather also saying  "She looks so elegant, so noble.". I love Karl Lagerfeld even more now.

This Armani Prive collection contains what you would expect, gorgoues clothes. Giorgio Armani stuck to just three colors for this collection: red, black and white. Bold, simple and chic is what words I would use to really define this collection. With a lady in red dancing as the backdrop of his show, Armani showcased clothing for a youthful sopisticated women. There where pants with flowing belle sleeves, jackets with chic shorts and coats for a fashionable work wear. Dresses, sparkled tops and yes more beautiful fancy sjorts for going out and gowns waiting to be walked down a premiere by a celeb.

The bold, simple and chic collection bursted with polka dots, printed coats and fur that was really organza and mohair that was really nylon. But even with the big focus of the collection being shorts, gowns and dresses where accessorized with netting for a funky bride-to-be that toke more center stage. As the shorts where done in such a way that you say ofcourse that is couture. The outfits where topped off with leather gloves and bags that look like the kind you envy seeing your chic mother throw on when your a kid.

 Elie Saab Couture

If there is one brand you can always excpect high glamour from especially during Couture Week its Elie Saab. So ofcourse every season you know you'll fall in love with it and every fashion blogger on the planet will write about it, but it's still like being a kid in a candy store waiting for the show to start and to see the new pieces hit the runway. As per usually there was an array of colors from peach, blue, pink, red, blush and ofcourse white & black. An also as per usual the beautiful heart-stopping beading which for this collection even included pearls.

Saab also picked up a couple of things from the Fall 2014 collection and brought it back around to Couture. The first being the ombré which looked even better in this collection, case in point the gorgoues opening number of peach and blue beaded master piece. With my other two favorites being the red halter gown and the blue off the shoulder number which was one of the piceces that had the pearls. The second thing he brought into the Couture collection was print. The floral prints of the Fall 2014 collection sent my heart racing so the two rose printed gowns made a delight.

Saab should keep doing print as he has hit it out of the park just like his famous beaded dresses.

It was clear from the first dress to come down the runway, the insperation for this collection was 19th century Roman goddesses. The collection flowed and swayed as the models walked down the runway. Leather straps wraped around gorgoues turtleneck sweaters and amazing dresses. The white with black printed flower creations where beauty. Ofcourse you can't have a Roman goddesses collection with out sheer fabrics, in dresses, skirts and tops. There was colors of white & black, pale yellows and blues, nudes and my favorites the red number and that beautiful forset green color.

The magic of creating the look wasn't just in the clothes but the amazing strappy leather sandals which came in black & brown but also a shiny matte gold color which made them my favorites . As a person who loves the goddess look, I naturally loved every piece of this Couture collection.

Zuhair Murad Couture

Zuhair Murad's infulence from this collection was inspired by what has been going on around him in his city of Beirut. That thing? Architecture. With  Herzog & de Meuron, Norman Foster, Steven Holl, and Zaha Hadid making thier mark Murad couldn't help himself. It was most noticable in the constructure of the clothing, with the high slits, and close to body form of the skirts, in the volumous gathered gowns which where my favorite pieces, the angular tops, and even in the embroidery. The shimmer of the beading is like light reflecting of a buliding and the hammered sequins crafted into geometic designs spoke to even higher volumes.

The Art Deco feel of this Couture collection is very diffrent from his garden inspired florals of his Couture Spring 2014. This girl reminded me of a high glamour city girl, who attended art  and museums openings and also attended the Met Gala wearing one of the many fabulous ball gowns. But who also had a youthful fun club vide in the short JLo inspried colored number. Couture Week is amking me excited for award season, but hopefully a celeb will pick up one of the gowns for a premiere so I can see them on the red carpet sooner. My absolute favorites being the opening number, the white long-sleeve gown with the slit, and the teal ballgown with the gathering at the hip. Beautiful.

Ralph & Russo Couture

Covering this particular Couture collection is a little bitter sweet, as I had been invited to attend but was not able to attend. Never the less the collection, which is only the duos second Couture show in Paris, was as beautiful as expected. Tamara Ralph & Michael Russo were inspired by the lights and details in the photos captured by interior photographer Massimo Listri.

As especially shown in the collections opening numbers that shimmered and shined in silver fabric with crystal and pearl embellishments. The collection started off with the silver numbers and then faded off to white, then in the most beautiful color of liliac, featuring lace, flowing silk and embellishments. Then out came the bold numbers, first a gorgoues deep puprle halter gown with lilac underlay, then deep blue, magenta, pink, and crimson red. The collection finished off with a darker set of hued colors, first deep magentas that beaded and flowed, deep silver featuring white & black, which then vered to all black then navy. They ended, like most Couture shows have been ended the last few seasons, with a big white embellished wedding gown, with a long flowing and beaded veil to match.

As this is there only second Paris Week runway and especially with their first collection being such a sucesses, the brand had a lot to live up to and I believe they accomplished that. I have my favorites ofcourse, like any collection, the white lace jumpsuit, the lilac long silk blouse with lace pants, the deep violet floral beaded gown with the black bow & the deep gorgous blue satin gown. All items I would wear in a heartbeat if I could. I am excited to see what will be next for the just Couture brand and watch them as they grow.

Back in May I had the privilege of interviewing the designer duo and asking them about there experience of thier first Paris Fashion Week Couture show Here.
